A Typical Day

We operate classrooms that are responsive to the needs of our students. Although each day is unique in its energy and dynamics, this schedule gives you a sense of what out typical day’s routine looks like.

7:30 - 8:30 Extended Morning Care
8:30 WELCOME! Programs begin.
8:30 - 9:15 First Center Time Children have the freedom to explore the classroom, choose activities and strengthen social bonds with friends.

9:15 - 9:35

 Morning Meeting
Daily singing of thematic songs for learning and recognition of the leader of the day. Early literacy & math work, creative movement, musical instruments, peace lessons, literacy, sign language, foreign language, etc.
9:35 - 9:55

A Nutritious Snack

Children bring their own nutritious snacks from home. Here we practice socialization skills and table manners and give thanks for what we have.
9:55 - 10:05

A Theme Related Story

Teachers read a story related to the learning topic to ready the children for the next work time. This makes their “work” in the various learning centers more meaningful and connected.

2nd Center Time
Children are self directed as they explore the learning environment and choose activities of personal interest at our many different

11:00 - 11:30 Outdoor Free Play
Our well-equipped fenced area includes:  swings, climbing gym with 2 slides, large play fort, teeter-totter and sand box.
11:45 - 12:30 Lunch Time
Children bring their own lunch boxes. An opportunity is provided for teeth brushing.
12:30 - 1:00

Story time

Children enjoy a wide variety of teacher-read children’s stories.
1:00 - 2:15

Rest Time

All children are encouraged to practice caring for their bodies by relaxing and recharging.  Books are offered to those who do not sleep half way through the rest period.
2:15 - 3:15 Enrichment Afternoon
Smaller group activity time with creative seasonal projects or classic children’s games.
3:15 - 3:30

Nutritious Afternoon Snack
Children bring their own nutritious snacks from home. Again we practice socialization skills and table manners and practice thankfulness.
3:30 - 4:30 Outdoor Free Play
4:30 - 5:30 Late Care
Simple art, creative movement, board games, stories
