Faculty and Credentials
Tender Years dedicated to excellence in the field of early childhood education. All lead teachers have professional preparation in education or a related field. Each staff member at Tender Years must be a self-motivated learner and strive to improve their skills and knowledge in order to benefit their students and classroom.
All of Tender Years lead teachers:
- Have a 4 year college degree
- Are registered with the Maine Roads to Quality Registry (for professional advancement)
- Attend 40 hours of continuing eductaion each year (10 above the DHHS requirements)
- Have a passion for working with children
All of Tender Years assistant teachers:
- Must have or be working on a CDA (child development associate certificate) in early childhood
- Are registered with the Maine Roads to Quality Registry (for professional advancement)
- Attend 40 hours of continuing education each year (10 above the DHHS requirements)
- Have a passion for working with children
Ongoing support and mentoring includes (although is not limited to):
- CPR and First Aid
- Conflict Resolution skills
- Managing Challenging Behaviors in the Classroom
- Understanding Learning Styles
- Communicating with Parents and Children
- How to Help Children with Separation Anxiety
- Preparation of Classroom Materials
